Texas Wood Decor is a family-owned woodworking business located in Henderson, Texas.

Every piece is designed, carved, engraved, finished, and inspected in our East Texas workshop. We specialize in handcrafted signs, plaques, first responder tributes, ranch décor, family name signs, cigar accessories, personalized gifts, and one-of-a-kind custom projects.

The Piece That Started It All

Eight years ago, I made a Texas-shaped clock without realizing it would become the piece that changed everything.

At the time, I wasn't thinking about starting a business. I simply wanted to create something with my own hands and see where the idea would take me. I cut the shape of Texas from wood, experimented with branching burn patterns across the surface, added a wildlife clock insert, finished the piece, and stepped back to look at what I had made.

Something happened that day. I caught the bug.

One project turned into another, then another. Before long, the garage was filling with tools, sawdust, unfinished ideas, and more projects than I could keep up with.

Looking back at that clock today, I can see that many of the things that define my work were already there in that first piece: Texas pride, a rustic style, a willingness to experiment, and a desire to create something functional instead of simply decorative.

Over the years, that first project led me down a road I never expected. Today, I build whiskey smokers, bottle openers, flight boards, challenge coin holders, desktop flags, crosses, cigar accessories, plaques, custom gifts, and countless other projects. What started as a hobby eventually grew into Texas Wood Decor.

It Represents a Beginning

I still have that first clock. My skills, tools, and techniques have improved dramatically over the years, but in many ways it will always be one of the most important pieces I've made.

It reminds me that every craftsman starts somewhere—and that sometimes a single piece of wood can change the direction of your life.

It's more than a project. It's the piece that started it all.
